SkyCell, a Swiss company specializing in pharmaceutical logistics, has launched K.AI—an AI-powered chatbot developed in collaboration with Microsoft—to enhance visibility, decision-making, and risk mitigation in pharma supply chains. The system is built on Azure OpenAI and integrates directly with Microsoft Teams and Copilot.

K.AI provides real-time shipment data, predictive insights, and automated recommendations for handling disruptions, aiming to reduce the $35 billion in pharmaceutical product losses reported annually. It continuously monitors cold-chain shipments and alerts stakeholders to risks before they escalate, replacing fragmented email communication with centralized, AI-assisted collaboration tools.

SkyCell’s broader SkyMind platform now integrates with Microsoft’s enterprise environment, enabling supply chain teams to access AI-driven insights and reporting through their existing systems. This includes automated documentation for product release and ERP system integration, supported by SkyCell’s 24/7 control tower operations.

The company currently monitors five million shipments per year and positions the integration with Microsoft as a way to support faster, more coordinated interventions, particularly as pharma logistics evolve with the rise of personalized medicine and decentralized distribution models.
